Body Image, Weightloss and ED | #8

Good morning beautifuls!
It's a lovely sunny day today and I'm wearing a skirt! Yes, Me. The girl who has struggled with her body confidence for 6 years is wearing a skirt. In public.

Everybody is beautiful. Yes I know everyone says that, but it's true! Just not everyone sees it in themselves!

I was 14 when my issues with my body image started. I wasn't unfit but I wasn't exactly volunteering myself to run 1500 metres on sports day. I had the usual amount of fat on my hips and I had the little muffin top you get from eating cake at lunch and visiting the sweet shop on the way home. But then again I wasn't one of the popular girls who had loads of friends and boyfriends (I thought this was because they had hips that stuck out and super flat stomachs they showed off every own clothes day).

I don't know what it was that started me hating my fatty bits - I had a family who had similar body shapes and friends who seemed to like me for who I was. But for some reason, I decided I needed to diet. It went really well at first. I ate salads for lunch and avoided the shop on the way home from school. I lost a bit of fat but I didn't see a difference. So I started going for long walks. I'd put my headphones in and just walk. Soon I was walking for 2 hours every night after school. I'd take my Granddad's dog with me so I could walk further. But I still didn't see any difference in my body.

My boobs started to grow more (they were pretty small until I turned 15) and pretty much overnight I'd gone up to a C-cup. My brain decided it was because I was eating a lot the fat was going straight to my boobs. I loved having boobs, I got my first boyfriend because of them! But my brain also decided that once my boobs were big enough, all that extra fat was going to go right on my stomach. So I cut down my food intake. I'd skip breakfast and then eat half a sandwich for lunch. I'd make excuses about feeling sick so I wouldn't have to eat dinner with my family or I'd go to the bathroom halfway through a meal and wait for everyone else to finish so I could dispose of the rest of my meal without anyone seeing. It got to the point where I was eating one single slice of unbuttered toast a day for my dinner.

I started fainting at school, none of my clothes fit and my body started growing little hairs all over it. One day I collapsed at school and was taken to hospital. They weighed me and I was really surprised when the doctor told me I was 5 stone. They diagnosed me with Anorexia nervosa and put all sorts of tubes into me to give my body all the nutrients it needed. I was in hospital for 3 weeks, I was only allowed home because I ate an entire mini pizza. I was watched 24 hours a day at home, making sure I ate properly and didn't try to do too much exercise.

It took 4 years to get back to a healthy weight, my body struggled with all the extra calories I was forced to take and I went up to a size 18. I'm now curvy, my boobs are a decent size and I have a boyfriend who loves the extra bits. My attitude to food has completely changed but mostly so has my attitude to my body.

I never saw how beautiful I was but I do now. Hopefully everyone else will see it in themselves.

I Hate Rain! | #6

Today I planned to go shopping and buy myself lots of lovely new things. But instead I've been stuck inside all day because of the rain. Actually it was more like monsoon season.

So instead I painted my nails, made a very nice curry for tea and spent the day trying to convince 2 spaniels to go outside to use the bathroom.

Hopefully tomorrow it wont be as horrible and I can go get my retail therapy on! Nobody like shopping in the rain and Primark's paper bags wont last 2 seconds if it's anything more than light drizzle. And everyone knows you cant go shopping without a sneaky visit to Primark to fill up your wardrobe! That reminds me, I need to buy coat hangers....

Tonight I shall film my July favourites video and blog about it in the morning. As soon as they're up, I'll let you know via twitter @beautyfair0810

Ciao

Fangirling | #5

So Jim Chapman favourited my tweet. No big deal.

Okay, It was a big deal to me. And my cat.

Anyway, My plans for this weekend are as follows...

  • Shopping spree :D Which will subsequently mean there will be a haul appearing on my youtube channel within the next few days..
  • Boyfriend returns from holiday...So I really need to tidy the house
  • Dog is having puppies, She's been showing signs of early labour so there will be puppies very soon! I promise I'll be updating my twitter a lot when they arrive and I may do a video once they're all settled.

I still need to film my daily make up routine and my July favourites. I think I may film my July favourites today just because I've already done today's make up and I cant be bothered taking it off to redo it #lazybones

I'm still job hunting. It's getting quite boring. Someone pay me to sleep all day and play with my kitten? Thanks

Ciao xx

I Want To Move Out | #4

Mornin' soldiers!

I have become addicted at looking at furniture! It's a strange addiction (maybe I should go on that tv show!) but I want to buy my own furniture and live in my own house. I cant afford my phone bill never mind a whole house worth of bills! But every time I go out, I find myself admiring pillows, photo frames, even a fridge and a sofa the other day. I've downloaded argos & ikea apps to my iPad and I've added everything to shopping lists so if I ever do move out I know exactly where to get everything.

Now I just need to find a house big enough!

Wish me luck

Loving life! | #3

I'm so proud of myself today. I havent even done anything huge! I feel so productive though.

My "what's in my make up bag' video is currently uploading to youtube so as soon as it's up I'll post a link to my twitter (@beautyfair0810)

I'm cooking lasagne and homemade garlic bread for dinner tonight. I may do a recipe blog post if I feel creative, if not I'll do one soon.

The puppies still havent arrived yet, but as soon as they do, I'll keep you updated via my twitter and then when they're all settled, I'll do a blog post.

Now to go and enjoy having the TV to myself! I'm sure I'll get bored of it by the end of the week!

Adios xx

Blog update | #2

I've just finished filming a "What's in my make up bag!" for my YouTube channel, I plan to edit it tomorrow morning so it should be up early afternoon. I'm doing all my videos on my iphone/ipad for the moment, due to an unfortunate accident involving my camera and a lake. Ooops!

Today has been a very busy day. This morning at around 6/7am, my boyfriend left for a week in Spain so it was a very early start. After feeding the kitten and the dogs, I cleaned the kitchen and made breakfast. Then I sorted out the washing and checked on the dogs (One of them is very pregnant! Yay puppies!) At about 10-ish, I showered and got myself all ready for the day. Then I went and sat out in the garden with the dogs and enjoyed the sunshine for literally 10 minutes until I was plagued by the cast of A Bugs Life! I then made lunch and played with the kitten for an hour. I filmed a video of her playing and edited and uploaded it to my channel (go check it out.. http://youtu.be/7O8D2GgufAE ) Then I started sorting out old blog posts and editing them ready to post them on here, I'm excited for everyone to read them! I organised my make up bag ready to film my "What's in my make up bag!" then realised it was 6pm! I fed the dogs and let them out to poop. After cleaning up after them, I went back to organising twitter and editing photos. I got a little distracted by online shopping but I was a good girl and didn't buy anything! I'm so proud! I had chicken stir fry for dinner and fed the kitten again. We had cuddles and she fell asleep on me. She's in her bed now and I'm pretty sure that soon I'll be in mine. It's been such a long day. I'll see you next time! xox

We got a cat! | #1

I know this isn't beauty related but it's too cute not to share! If you've seen the YouTube video, you'll know there is a kitten in my life (Don't worry if you haven't, I'll put it at the bottom of this post!).

Me & my boyfriend have adopted the cutest little kitten named Akira.
She's 8 weeks old and I am in love! She's been a part of our little family for about 4 weeks now. She didn't have the greatest welcome to the world though.

Her momma is a stray. We'd seen her around a bit and noticed a change in her behaviour but we didn't think anything of it. Then one day my boyfriend heard a strange noise in his garden. Fast forward 20 minutes and his entire family were out searching for the noise. They found a tiny little kitten on it's own hiding next to a tree. His dad was the one who caught the poor little kitty and gave it to my boyfriend to take to his room. (There's two huge spaniels downstairs, so they wanted to keep them apart). We took the kitten to the vet, found out it was indeed a girl so we decided on the name Akira. It's Japanese for "intelligent". She also had fleas so we had to bath her which she really didn't like.

She's settled in so well and refuses to leave either of us alone. Next week she gets all her injections and we're getting her chipped, I'm not looking forward to it :(

She's so playful and happy, it's impossible not to fall in love with her. Her favourite spots are my chest, my boyfriend's shoulders or the pillows on my side of the bed. She's currently sitting on my chest, licking my face as I write this. (Hope my make up tastes good!)

I honestly couldn't imagine life without her now, I am definitely a cat person!
